Why do we fast? What is fasting?
Fasting is choosing to abstain from food or an activity for a period of time to focus on God. We replace the time spent on these desires to pray, worship and/ or read the Bible instead. This discipline helps to strengthen our spirit and hear God’s voice more clearly. |

“…if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.“ 2 Chronicles 7:14 |

| FAMILYAgree to fast and pray as a family. Decide on the type of fast every member of your household is comfortable with. For family devotion, read and pray the Word given for the day. |

| HOMESFasting together as a Homes is easier than doing it alone. Choose a specific type of fast. Schedule a specific time each day for each member to synchronise prayer as he / she fasts. |

| REVO GROUPSInspire a few members of Acts in your work area, campuses or schools to fast and pray with you. For example, utilise tea breaks or lunch breaks, recess breaks to fast and pray through the focus points together. |

 | TOTAL FASTAbstain from solid food for 24 hours.
Take only water. |
|  | ONE MEAL FASTSacrifice one full meal a day.
e.g. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. |

 | PARTIAL FASTAbstain from solid food for any extended part of the day.
e.g. Sunrise to sundown. Take only water. |
|  | DANIEL FASTAbstain from meat and other favourite delicacies. Take only small portions of fresh vegetables, fruits and juices. |
